Module Programming, Keys and Immobilizers
We program modules, flash ECUs and do key and immobilizer work at the curb, which is the part most mobile mechanics cannot do.

At a Glance
- ThinkCar S8 Platinum Pro for bidirectional and module work
- Mitchell ProDemand for factory level procedures
- XGecu T48 chip programmer for keys and immobilizers
- Cars other shops wanted to write off have left running
The Tools Are the Whole Difference
A mobile mechanic with a socket set can do brakes and an oil change. What separates one who can actually replace a shop is whether the van carries the electronics.
What Is In the Van
- ThinkCar S8 Platinum Pro. A bidirectional scan tool, so we can command components and run factory tests instead of reading a code and guessing.
- Mitchell ProDemand. Factory level wiring diagrams, torque specs and procedures on a laptop, in your driveway.
- XGecu T48. A chip programmer, which is what makes key, immobilizer and ECU work possible away from a shop.
That combination is the difference between telling somebody we will look at it next week and being able to say what is wrong that same afternoon.
Cars Other People Gave Up On
Brandon has had good luck with immobilizer and no start cars across Toyota, Ford and Honda that shops wanted to write off, purely because they did not have the programming tools on hand. A car that will crank and not run because it does not recognize its own key is not a broken car. It is a car waiting for somebody with a chip programmer.
What to Ask Before You Hire Anyone
This is Brandon's own advice and it applies to us as much as to anybody else. Ask whether they can actually program modules and do immobilizer and key work, or whether they only swap parts. Ask whether the diagnostic fee applies to the repair. Ask whether they come to you or whether you are the one paying for a tow. And if they cannot explain the problem in plain English, hang up.
Questions We Get
Can you cut a new key as well as program it?
Call with the year, make and model. Programming and immobilizer work we do. Physical key cutting depends on the vehicle, so we will tell you honestly before you book.
What is ECU flashing for?
It rewrites the software on a control module. It is needed when a module is replaced, when a manufacturer has issued an update for a known fault, and sometimes to recover a module that has lost its programming.
A dealer told me this has to be done at the dealership. Is that true?
Sometimes it is, on the newest vehicles with locked down security. Often it is not. Tell us the vehicle and what the dealer said and we will give you a straight answer rather than driving out to find out.
Tell Us What It Is Doing
Call or text (513) 314-8577. We ask what is going on, when it started and any codes you have. If it is inside the radius we set a time.
