What It Costs Before You Call
Two numbers are fixed and published. Everything after that gets quoted to your face, with the fault identified, before any bolt gets turned.
Safety Inspection and Computer Diagnostic
A flat fee. It covers us coming to you, a walk around safety check, and a real scan with a A scan tool that can command a part on and off, not only read the code. It is how a fault gets proven instead of guessed. rather than a code reader. The $100 comes off the labor if we do the repair.
Brake Labor on Most Vehicles
Both wheels on the front, or both on the back. Most brake jobs are one axle at a time., plus parts. We tell you the parts price before anything is ordered. Heavy duty and some European vehicles take longer and we say so before we come out.
What Repairs Usually Land At
These are honest ranges from the work we actually do, not a price list. The number you get is quoted after the diagnosis, in person, before we start.
A Sensor or a Battery
Commonly a couple of hundred dollars all in. The part is often $20 to $80 and the rest is about an hour of labor.
Deeper Electrical or Drivability
Commonly $400 to $1,200 depending on the parts and how far into the car the fault is. Chasing a wiring fault is time, and we quote the time honestly.
Brakes
$125 an axle in labor plus parts. What moves this is what is found behind the wheel, like a seized caliper or a line that has to be replaced.
Why the Cheap Jobs Are the Ones That Surprise People
A check engine light sounds expensive and usually is not. A brake job sounds cheap right up until the caliper is seized, the rotor is cooked and there is wiring damage behind the battery tray.
That is the whole argument for paying for a diagnosis. One wrong part costs more than the inspection did, and most people who skip the diagnosis end up buying two.

Questions About Money
Is there a call out fee on top of the $100?
No. The $100 covers coming to you, the safety inspection and the computer diagnostic. It is the same whether you are five minutes away or nineteen miles away About 20 miles from Loveland and Milford, further if the job makes sense..
What if I only want the diagnosis?
That is fine. You pay the $100 and the answer is yours to take wherever you like. We would rather you knew what was wrong than felt cornered into a repair.
Why can you not quote my repair over the phone?
Because an honest number needs the fault identified first. Anybody who quotes a repair from a code over the phone is guessing, and the guess is never in your favor.
Do you take cards?
Cash and credit cards both.
